This books, especially the at the end of it, has some of the most precise insights into a tortured human soul than any other book I have ever read. Read once, lay it down and then read it again, you are guaranteed to mark some of Maugham’s sentences, remember them for life and make then you own broken heart quotes – good for girls and for boys alike.
