It may sound easy, but in 8 out of 10 times getting back your ex is a Hollywood that just does not happen in real life. Yes, it’s a legit thing to do, but if he or she says NO you better move on and leave the movie style ending to movies.
And yes, leave revenge out as well. You are moving on for your own good not for revenging your ex purposes. If all works well, revenge will just be a bonus 
Remember, the chances of winning someone back are very slim. and you have better chances of becoming a stalker. Please do your self a favor and move on. Love your ex or not, they are probably gone for good.
