Make Amends With Your Old Love

by admin on October 19, 2010

Most people, women and men, experience a lost love episode that leaves them scarred to one degree or the other. Extremists say losing your loved one is similar to losing a child, and that may be true for some people, but its best putting things into perspective.

A partner in life is no way near to a having a child in terms of responsibly, long term commitment or influence on your day to day activities and behavior, though it may seem this way when breaking up.

When children are involved, they are the number one priority, no matter how badly you’re aching, and this is one of the main reasons why you should make amends with your old love.

Making amends with old love

If you don’t have kids, By all means, feel free to try and getting your old love back (no stalking is allowed!!!!) but when kids are in play, just leave it be and focus on them, they may be your get out of jail card. With kids you get unconditional love at least until a certain age and while this is by no means a romantic love, it has its advantages.

Just like in any other relationships, kids need attention and lots of it. It’s easy to ignore them and just let them do their own thing, but you would be much better off spending a lot time with your kids, getting to know them and giving them valuable life lessons.

While that should help in forgetting your ex and trying getting them back it also serves a much more important goal: loving your kids and preparing them to a life that may be less hurtful than yours: you can teach them that love comes in many shapes and forms, and losing it is not the end of the world, but an opportunity to start fresh and find a more suitable partner.
