Time WILL heal all wounds (or at least make turn them into bitter sweet memories) , the best thing to do is go on with your life as fast as possible and start dating again – no matter how pointless it seems – and many more true cliches.
But when talking about love, or lost love, i think we should always remember that in most cases we are really talking about lost habits, and not the loss of a true love. In many cases, what you have lost is a partner in life: a person you shared your most inner thoughts and actions with, someone who had become an intricate part of your life. Love has nothing to with it – it’s more like losing an old habit, not unlike quitting smoking after 30 years, and that’s how it should be treated if you want to mend your heart quickly and move on as fast as possible.
Old relationship are are not glorious as they seem in your mind and your memories, they are more like cancer disease to your future: the faster you lose them the faster you will heal. I mean it to sound harsh. Lose the old habit and you will find, after a while, that you hated it in the first place. Most ex-smokers despise smoking more then those who never smoked to begin with…
